For Foot’s Sake - a Foot Care Workshop

August 2nd 2025, 10-11:30am at Newtown Community Centre

$25 pp

Your feet are your connection to the ground, but how much time do you spend looking after their fitness?

Good foot care is important for anyone who relies on their feet to move through a dynamic range of movement, such as dance, running, hiking, yoga and much more.

Did you know that 25% of your bones are in your feet?

Through all these small bones, we have access to a lot of movement within our feet but we generally use only a fraction of their capability. Through shoe wearing and walking on hard surfaces, we rarely take full advantage of what our feet can do.

Do you sometimes struggle with balance?

As a Pilates teacher, people often tell me that they need to strengthen their core because they struggle with balance. However, our feet play a huge role in enabling us to balance and addressing limitations of our foot movement may help to improve our stability when balancing.

For Foot’s Sake is recommended for anyone who uses their feet regularly! Especially those who require balance and agility such as dancers, yogis, runners and walkers

For Foot’s Sake will take you through a series of exercises to support your feet to access a bigger range of movement. This includes foot and leg strengthening, mobility and self massage. You will get the opportunity to learn more about your specific movement tendencies and learn ways to address any imbalances in your movement vocabulary.

The human body has fascial connections right from the soles of our feet to our foreheads. By caring for your feet in this way, you may just feel a difference through your legs and into your upper body.

$25 per person, however if you are facing ongoing financial difficulties, please get in touch to discuss a discount. Bring your own mat, some will be available if you do not have one

At the end of this workshop, you will receive a handout with exercises and ways to get hold of useful equipment for your ongoing foot care practice
